One day, try to watch a red carpet premier of any Hollywood movie in the comfort of your living room. Get a cool glass of juice or soda, lay back and relax. Then pay really close attention to the Hollywood actors and actresses that grace the silver screen. Pay attention to their hair, their clothes, their figures, their skin, their eyes, their hair, and even the way they smile and carry themselves through the ordeal of flashing cameras and endless chatter of people who want to talk to them for interviews or short quotes for magazines and other related publications. Now think: how do these people remain so sexy and so good looking with all the work they have? What do they do to stay in such good shapes?
For many people, Hollywood actors and actresses represent the ideal beauties and hunks of modern civilization. These figures make up the daydreaming of people, as they try to combat excess weight and attempt to at least look vaguely like their favorite Hollywood actors and actresses. But often, small attempts are not enough to copy the look of their favorite stars. What gives? Well, more often than not, these people that billions of other people from around the world admire and fantasize about were not born with their perfect bodies. They were not gods and goddesses that were blessed with quick metabolism and perfectly shaped bodies that conform to any kind of tight jeans or revealing gowns. They were, so to speak, as plain as you and me. But what separates these goats from the sheep, anyway?
Claudia Schiffer, the well know supermodel of the runways from Tokyo to Paris to New York, is actually not on any kind of weight loss or exercise plan, at least the commercial ones. Why is this? Well for one, she has come to conclusion that these commercially available plans were just making her body processes irregular, and thus, she in the end decided to keep her life pure and simple. No more than three meals consumed within a span of a day, with a lot of fiber to go with it. Of course, very little meat and no candies to speak of. What about craving? Well, Schiffer is not a robot. Of course she enjoys chocolates every now and then. But like some other stars, she showed how one could enjoy without stuffing one’s self.
Now, the equally formerly popular Geri Halliwell was also someone who had tried plan upon plan in the effort to win her battle against weight. But unfortunately, like Schiffer, these plans tended to make her body’s processes go haywire, and she couldn’t function that well after. So what she did was to simply employ an eating habit that she termed quite “sensible”. Sensibility and good knowledge of the right foods was what made Halliwell successful in reaching the ideal image she had of what her body should look like.
Claire Sweeney, on the other hand, in the end also gave up with the most popular diet and exercise programs. She instead led herself to the caring and sweet hands of Weight Watchers. Now she is quite satisfied with her achievement, and does not wish for anything more. Why did she eventually go to Weight Watchers? Health reasons, as ironic as it may sound for many people. When Sweeney attempted to lose weight by inducing ketosis through the Atkins diet and exercise program, she suffered from an infection in her vital organ- her kidneys. She never wanted to experience that again, and decided that curves are as sexy too, and she doesn’t need to look like the naturally slim models of the world.
Gwyeneth Paltrow, on the other hand, is one of the few celebrities that have really taken things to the extreme in the beginning. No meat, no milk. But now after giving birth she’s more lenient with herself.
